Partners with sustainable Motorsports Park To make debut at Road Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA (November 11, 2009) The highly anticipated new Zolfe sports coupe will be on track for the first time at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia Saturday November 21, 2009. With over four years in design and manufacture, the Zolfe combines classic British Sports car style and race proven, lightweight fuel-efficient technologies into a high performance package that is track ready AND street legal! “A true renaissance of the classic British sports car on a completely different level.” Says Frank Boulton, North American importer of the Zolfe.
According to Ken Goldwasser, owner of Zolfe East “The Zolfe is a great looking car on the street but don’t kid yourself, it’s one serious racecar…” The launch is presented by Zolfe East, one of only two North American distributors in conjunction with an Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) member event at the track.
AMP is a private country club (similar to a golf country club, but instead of playing golf you have a race course) that offers memberships for serious motor sports enthusiasts looking for executive level privileges and amenities. “We have spared no expense designing our first class driving course using Tilke Engineers & Architects, the famed Formula One Track designers,” says Jeremy Porter, president and founder. AMP will be the only green/sustainable commercial/industrial development in North America. Slated for construction in 2010 in Dawsonville, Georgia, AMP will also serve as home for Zolfe East and a spec Zolfe Race Series in the works for 2011.
Zolfe founders, Nic Strong and Jez Coates, use state of the art computer aided design and “tier one” manufacturers including STADCO, AP RACING and MULTIMATIC to supply many of the components for this incredible new sports car. The chassis is built with FIA standards of safety in mind and its one-piece fiberglass body’s proportions have been wind tunnel tested to reduce drag. The Zolfe is powered by a 2.0-liter Mazda 170hp power plant (recycled from a donor car!) turning a 6-speed manual transmission. Combined with a gross weight of only 1500 pounds, the car is anticipated to turn 0-60mph times in the low 5-second range.
